THE REINVENTION OF COLOUR - STARTS TODAY, which is EVERY DAY!

THE REINVENTION OF COLOUR - STARTS TODAY , which is EVERY DAY!

I LOVE ORANGE

+ the
US (and MANY OTHER countries, worldwide!) needs a COLOR REVOLUTION!
Maybe that would help THE ECONOMY?!

Some people say: "we become what we eat."
I say: "we become what we see!"

Most of the houses here - at least apartment- and housing communities- are painted BEIGE OR BETTER IN ANY SAD MUDDY COLOR. [strange enough, it is really hard to find these colors online, what is not really necessary, because everyone knows what i mean!]
I feel S A D, when I see them,... even better, next to the freeway!
i must admit, when it comes to that so typical BEIGE-MUD-WHAT -EVER-WANT-TO-BE-COLOR, i tend to become a little dry.
so, i often asked myself what possibly could be the reason for
this beige disaster

is it maybe a kind of being GREEN, and the whole world underestimated the foresight of the us, a sort of recycling all the left overs from other paint jobs, in the way of mixing them all together, and adding some white left overs to stretch the %) wonderful experience a bit. wow, that's maybe green, AT LEAST concerning the PAINT; but what about being green to our souls
my idea .... "please, dear painter, could you be more accurate in calculating the amount of paint for   your projects, that we can  enjoy nicer colors in the future! & thanks soooo much!" ;)

LET'S CHANGE TO THE BETTER!
LETS BE BOLD & BRAVE! GET MORE COLOUR INTO UR SOUL & IN YOUR LIFE

if you love colors -AND I KNOW, MANY PEOPLE DO!-, but YOU are still afraid to use them in your home or office, i have a great book tip for you:

brilliant color at home

newcomers to interior design and experienced designers alike will find a wealth of practical ideas in this celebration of bright color and how to use them.
by Elizabeth Hilliard

or  talk to an interior designer, who is well experienced with colors, who has an eye for how to use them to in the right proportion to make you feel comfortable.
let me tell you 2 little stories from my personal life.
my husband  was never such a bright colors person before we got married ;), but god thanks, open and experimental enough to let me guide him into the world of colors, which still is lots of fun for both of us ;)
one day, when i came home with a grass green small table.
on any other table - the fresh green of the table  triggers happiness in his heart - in mine too!

later the green happy table got a sister - an orange happy table .... for guests ;)

++++++
a bigger project, when we moved in this house, was to decide on the color of our dining room and a part of the attached living room is now painted in "coral canyon"
because the living room is oriented to north-east, we miss the warm light from the south there. that was the reason for me to choose this hue [color]. the chroma is high, a bit tinted, to soften it for he eye, because there was quite some square footage to paint.
the "coral canyon" hue charges the more cool light with warmth, and gives the space now a welcoming atmosphere. [especially nice for the most of us women, because it feels warmer to us!]

before it was painted , who would have thought so, it was a kind of LILAC-GREYISH BEIGE .... BRRRRRR %)
i am so glad that we have landlords who are open minded enough that they gave us the chance to  change the colors in the house.
introducing some contrast to the large wall at the end of the room, [we have a vaulted ceiling] i arranged a couple of nearly ceiling high, black bamboo sticks, bound together in bunches of three. in front of the wall, which looks fabulous!

++++++++++++++
when you choose your color be brave and honest. choose
colors which are connected to  your HEART!

... and know that color professionals often will advise you to use specific colors for specific locations in your house or office, but when you don't like them at all - from your heart, which means you feel real uncomfortable with them. let the interior designer/architects know about it, and tell them what you would prefer instead.

.. but also know, that leaving the path of the known and familiar, means be open in your mind and heart, and then you will maybe find something what you never would have experienced otherwise.

carpe diem

that is such a good start in the day ....
ORANGE TONES are the perfect color for a room where you want to have communication going on - where people come together.
using ORANGE also can help in certain spaces in BUSINESS - meeting rooms, sales, shows, etc! it helps people feel more comfotable and relaxed to communicate in a better way.

    just try it! today!

  3. Well, Kris, I was thinking, and thinking, and thinking again ... :)))
I agree with you, but how to solve the problem?
    I offer the war.
    It's simple.
We need followers first. An Army, another words. Then we would need weapons.
On my opinion paint balloons (similar to water balloons) would do the job. Then we would need to attack city halls. At the same time, throughout California. After we paint the walls of the government buildings we might get the right understanding from those, who does paperwork for city engineers :)))

  4. hi OLEG,
please ;) no war, although some people do not understand any other 'language'.

when i talked about the "COLOR REVOLUTION", i was thinking about the CHANGE (REVOLUTION AGAINST THEIR OWN HABITS) INSIDE OF PEOPLE!

i am more of a person who hopes and believes in the CHANGE FROM INSIDE OUT, NOT vise versa.
i believe in the power of the PERSON, who has the chance to change itself, daily!

i my opinion, in the long run, one has to be able to reach the hearts of people!
make them want to try out new things, to become more open minded, to feel positive about experimenting, to find out how great something new/different can feel/be, to understand how they can try, and how huge the influence of color is, and to be in love again - WITH COLOR!

"The head is round so our thinking can change direction." Francis Picabia

[1922 Francis Picabia formulated this idea, which he followed throughout his life. Picabia (1879-1953): painter, writer, filmmaker and provocateur, was one of the most serious and influential figures of classical modernism.]

i wish you & all the readers,
    a super ROUND DAY!
    luv

  5. I agree! :) I was just kidding about war :) Today I discovered great structure in Hollywood. It painted bright red. Looks like fire department, but it's not. It's pre-school. Talking about color revolution ... people need to be educated, at least those, who have a deal with children, otherwise we will face generation of terminators in the closest future

  6. Maybe they should have chosen ORANGE instead of RED!

    RED

is a very strong color. It is a noticeable color that is often used on caution and warning signs. It is often associated with stop or "beware". It’s a hot color that evokes a powerful emotion of passion, lust, sex, energy, blood and war. Red is a good color to use for accents that need to take notice over other colors. Red is often used in flags for nations, as it is a symbol of pride and strength. It is also a sporty color that many car manufactures choose to showcase their signature vehicles.
Orange is a combination of Red and Yellow. It is also a bright and warm color. It represents fire, the sun, fun, warmth and tropical images. It is considered a fun light color that has appetizing qualities to it.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ORANGE

increases oxygen supply to the brain and stimulates mental activity. It is highly accepted among young people. As a citrus color, orange is associated with healthy food and stimulates appetite. Any design relating to the tropics, something fun, easy going and youthful should incorporate some type of orange into the design. A darker, richer shade of orange can be associated with autumn.

    Thanks for your comment, Oleg!
    Have a wonderful evening!
Maybe you can take a picture, or tell me the address and i ll find a photo online. Would be interesting to see it life!

    Love n Hugs

  7. Fabulous and colorful post, Kris! Just reading it took all the today overcast weather away!

Funny you did all the colors on the font... THAT will probably traumatize some beige people ;-) Just to say that if you are not used to colors, adding it by touch as Kris did with the green table is a perfect way to get some life without feeling overwhelmed.
You will also notice that adding a hot pink pillow on a beige classic sofa will metamorphose the couch into a sexy thing!
Have fun! Life is not beige!!!
    Be good and never behave,

  8. I LIVE for color, especially orange, green, and teal! It's not a beige world and I'm surprised at how colorless people live...why are so many living rooms tan and off white?

    1. I GUESS PEOPLE ARE AFRAID! INSTEAD OF LIVING IN A DULL HOME, PEOPLE SHOULD HIRE AN INTERIOR DESIGNER, COLOR CONSULTANT, OR ARCHITECT WHO IS GOOD WITH COLOURS.THESE PEOPLE COULD HELP THEM TO FIND A HARMONIOUS WAY OF LIVING THEIR DREAM OF A MORE COLORFUL HOME WITHOUT GETTING OVERWHELMED BY THEM!
WHO IS NOT ENERGIZED BY THE RIGHT COLOR? ANOTHER GREAT IDEA IS MAYBE STARTING OUT WITH A COLOURFUL ART OBJECT, WHICH IS RE-MOVEABLE. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
