WARREN MULLER <> lighting DESIGN/ER TODAY 2010

WARREN MULLER

MILKY WAY
US$ 4,500.00

Milky Way is an illuminated light sculpture designed by Warren Muller in 2002. It was created using found objects including a wood box, milk bottles, hay hook, rope and pulleys.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

With an enviable dexterity, Warren Muller creates fantastic lighting sculptures from an assorted collection of found, recycled, and salvaged objects. Small statuary, jars, wooden crates, wheels, brooms, tubing, tools and more are faithfully transformed from the everyday into the extraordinary. Muller’s sculptures create an interesting, often enigmatic dialog that engages each viewer in personal and unpredictable ways. Part whimsical and part sublime, Muller’s novel approach has been promoted in a variety of projects that include corporate, residential, hospitality and entertainment as well. Warren Muller has received international recognition from such illustrious sources as the New York Times, Interior Design Magazine, Elements of Living, Home Magazine and USA Today. Commission requests are welcome and can be made though the Limn website.

THESE FABULOUS SCULPTURES OF
LIGHT,
FUN AND FANTASY????

Warren Muller tickles and taunts the imagination
with his amazing
illuminated sculptures.
After earning a degree in cinematography and photography
Warren began the early part of his career as a performance
artist and continues to infuse the theatrical in his work.

A new artistic medium: sly painting on milk bottles

Someone is painting on empty milk bottles, then sneaking them into unsuspecting citizens' normal milk delivery. Folks are trying to catch the artist in the act.
Jackie Dimock, 55, from nearby Kingswinford, discovered a bottle on her doorstep on Monday morning. She said: "I was putting out the empties and I noticed there was an extra one on the doorstep. "When I picked it up I saw there was this amazing picture on it. The milkman came to collect the bottles, but I didn't want to give him the one with the picture on it, I'm going to keep it.

i hope you had some fun "thinking design" moments here!
milk bottles ... some of us can still remember them from our own childhood ;) i can! i remember them standing on the top of the staircase in front of the entrance door to my grandma's house. ... waiting for us to take them inside and have some fresh cold milk for breakfast. they were made out of glass, with a aluminum cap on top. i always have loved the - little bulky - shape. i do not know who designed the first of them, but this person definitely got the right shape for the milk.

today milk bottles have a totally different shape === think about the huge 1 gallon size "bottles", better container, which you will not find in germany, because they wouldn't fit in the average size of a german refrigerator. ;)) lol
i always will  prefer the old shape!

HAVE A PARTY + EAT THE CHAIRS = BREAD FURNITURE!

HELLO MY FRIENDS - TODAY IT'S ABOUT SOMETHING VERY UNUSUAL ... AS YOU SEE!
sorry, i couldn't really help myself to show it to you on my blog, when i discovered this so unique idea, to actually bake your furniture.
every woman, at least in germany, knows the saying "bake yourself a man", because sometimes it's difficult to find the right man, here on earth. something similar must have happen to this spanish industrial designer

but until today, i never were thinking about baking furniture ;)

enoc armengol, a spanish designer describing the 'panapaati':
'every piece forms a living, organic, natural structure, which suffers the alterations
on having interacted with the environment, humans, animals...this is food! it creates
a vital cycle, which it's born, lives, and dies without leaving rest.100% alive matter.
100% biodegradable. the work is formed by a set of common furniture, composed
by two chairs and one table, these turn automatically into the core of

a synergy of shared actions, both internal and external, that modify the initial form constantly. somehow
this installation can be a clear reflect from the actual society and production process.
fast, and the short-time life of the current, almost ephemeral furniture. nevertheless,
these pieces can also be eaten becoming part of the living process.'

here you ll see how it actual works.....
enjoy, and  .....

please, let me know the results of your baking
furniture experiment!

Toobe Floor Lamp

US $620.00
Design by Ferruccio Laviani.
Made in Italy by Kartell.
A pendant of simple and essential design, the E' suspension lamp consists of the pleated polycarbonate lampshade and a chrome metal rosette. The cable is adjustable in length between 12&quot.
Toobe by Ferruccio Laviani was conceived from the idea that the use of a PMMA extruded tube could, according to length, become either a floor or table lamp. Thanks to an innovative coloring technology, Toobe is the first Kartell product to be "faded" to permit a special light to be diffused within the cylinder. The line is simple and modern. The handle in the lamp body makes the pole functional and easy to move. Select from five transparent color options. Also available in a table lamp.
