CHANGE

OF PLACE  ... CHANGE OR EXPLANATION OF MY BUSINESS NAME ...

            MR UXN DESIGN

my dear lovers of art and design, architecture and interior design, life, love and happiness!

... today I need YOUR OPINION!

as many of you know, we recently moved to san rafael, which exactly is located at the opposite end of the san francisco bay, where we used to live before. different time, different place, maybe time for a different BUSINESS NAME?

As i have realized, lots of people have a big problem with my business name

MR UXN DESIGN

- many people pronounce it like the german word for ox = ochsn, which is not right, and many people just do not know what the "UXN" stands for; therefore they cannot put it into any context.

so, now i am thinking about to CHANGING my business name to

kris schirmer art+design
or
kris schirmer artNdesign.

i also could simplify MR UXN DESIGN to MUD, which would be so much easier to remember! ;) lol

or

i could explain what UXN stands for.

U = UNIQUE, UBIQUITOUS, UNSHACKLED
X = X-BALLANCE, X-HARMONY
N = NATURE, NONCHALANCE, NON-UNIFORMITY

thanks to you all taking a bit of your time to read this ... and hopefully you let me get to know what you think!

i guess NOW everyBODY will remember the name

MR UXN DESIGN

... with so much easiness, that i cannot go on vacation anymore ;) LOL

DO I STILL HAVE TO CHANGE THE NAME?
;) KRIS

  1. Hey Kris. My vote is for the second one with the N. More snazzy. Good luck!

  2. my understanding is that it's always easier to google someone's name when you meet them or hear about them so I do like your name as part of your business name. I don't know if it's true, but it makes sense to me. I don't like MUD because of the connotation. Your art is not muddy in anyway shape or form. I like the thought behind UXN, but at my age I couldn't even remember it so had to scroll back up to take a look at. I say the easier the better and Kris and go from there is easy. Good luck...and just my personal opinion

  3. thanks for your comment irene!
    the idea with MUD was just a joke, because it really does not match with what i do at all!
    have a great evening!

  5. I enjoyed learning the meaning behind UXN,but I had the same problem Irene described, having to scroll up a few times to get the spelling right!
    I actually prefer #1 because it is clear and to-the-point. I had to stop a second to figure out what #2 was saying. I am a very direct kind of person, so #1 works better for me.

  6. I like #1 - couldn't get Blogger to accept a comment. It's clean & evocative. I'm stopped by the "N"

  17. I. business name should be easy to remember. MUD is memorable. 2. current name is confusing at best but MUD is not.
